Hematology/Oncology physicians at Roger Williams are actively involved in clinical cancer research and collaborate with laboratory researchers in the development of translational research protocols.
Current areas of clinical research include breast cancer, head/neck cancer, thoracic cancers, gastrointestinal cancers, hematologic malignancies, and supportive cancer care. Access for patients to clinical cancer trials is provided through the Cancer Protocol Office at Roger Williams. Currently, several clinical trials through the Eastern Cooperative Oncology Group (ECOG), Clinical Trials Support Unit (CTSU), Brown University Oncology Research Group (BrUOG), and Pharmaceutical industry are enrolling patients actively.
